VOLUNTEERS MAKE A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE

Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) has a core of 500 dedicated and hardworking volunteers who provide more than 75,000 hours of service to the Health Centre each year. We cannot possibly put a price on that kind of contribution.

Our caring and energetic volunteers are key members of our healthcare team. Whether working directly or indirectly with patients and their families, volunteers support our staff in providing care and improve the overall hospital experience.

Learn more about volunteer opportunities at PRHC and the process to apply through the video below. Alternatively, if you would prefer to learn about the volunteer process in person, please register for an information session. These are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required, please call: 705-876-5066 or email us at volunteers@prhc.on.ca.

The volunteer program at PRHC is always looking for post-secondary students interested in volunteering at the Health Centre over their summer break. Please email volunteers@prhc.on.ca to learn more.

Please note, we are currently at capacity for high school volunteers. To add your name to our waitlist, email volunteers@prhc.on.ca.

TRAINING

As a volunteer, you may help porter patients in a stretcher around the Health Centre. It may seem like a straightforward job – but manoeuvring the stretcher safely requires training.

Please watch the below video to learn how to properly use the stretcher and safely transport patients.

More training videos to come.
