WHAT WE OFFER

Psychiatric Assessment Services for the Elderly (PASE) at Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) is a program that offers geriatric mental health assessment, consultation and education services. We provide treatment for people 65 and older. We offer:

  • Individual assessment to address patients issues through social work, nursing, and/or psychiatric input

  • Education, liaison and support for caregivers, involved professionals and community agencies

  • Psychogeriatric Resource Consultant (PRC) services

  • Recommendation of treatment, services, strategies or case management

SEEKING CARE

To access care through PASE, patients must be:

  • 65 and older who have developed a mental health condition later in life

  • Located in Peterborough, Haliburton, City of Kawartha Lakes or Northumberland County

  • Living in their own home or in a long-term care facility

The PRC also provides consultation services to employees in the long-term care sector.

Team members can travel to the patient’s home or long-term care facility, and satellite clinics are held monthly in Lindsay, Cobourg and Campellford and bi-monthly in Haliburton/Minden. PRC’s also take turns being available by telephone for consultation and can be reached toll free at 1-866-877-2910.

HOW TO REFER TO PASE

To access the PASE program, you must be referred by a physician or nurse practitioner. The referral form can be completed and faxed to 705-876-5160.
