WHAT WE OFFER

The Eating Disorder Clinic at Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) provides outpatient services to both child and adolescents – under 18 as well as adults over 18 who are experiencing symptoms of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and other forms of disordered eating.

WHO WE ARE

Patients and their families will work with a multidisciplinary team consisting of:

  • Child and Youth Workers

  • Nurse Practitioners

  • Psychiatrist

  • Psychologist and Psychological Associate

  • Social Workers

  • Registered Dietitian

The team at PRHC also works with other agencies or service providers to develop treatment plans for people with eating disorders and can make referrals to more intensive programs if needed.

SEEKING CARE

Treatment and/or therapy for children and adolescents is more family-based. If more intensive treatment for the eating disorder is needed or the individual is or becomes medically unstable, the team provides referrals to day or inpatient programs.

Treatment and/or therapy for adults is primarily group based, with individual appointments available for support and/or medical monitoring as needed or while waiting for group treatment to begin.
