What We Offer

The Peterborough Lynx – Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) program is a collaborative support and treatment program between the local branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA HKPR) and Mental Health & Addictions Services at Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC).

Early psychosis intervention programs are intended to serve people between the ages of 14 and 35 who meet the

following criteria:

  • Are experiencing symptoms of a psychotic disorder

  • Have received either no treatment for psychosis or six (6) months or less of treatment for psychosis.

As it takes time to diagnose the underlying cause of psychosis, EPI provides two (2) types of service:

Initial assessment which will be provided to anyone between the ages of 14 and 35 experiencing symptoms of a psychotic disorder. Through that assessment and treatment, the EPI program will determine which clients will benefit from the program, and which clients should be referred to other more appropriate services.

Intensive treatment and case management services – which will be provided to those individuals who meet the eligibility criteria listed above.

Clients who meet the criteria for an EPI program will be able to receive services for a period up to three (3) years.
