WHO WE ARE

In early 2023, PRHC was designated as a Level III Trauma Centre site by Critical Care Services of Ontario (CCSO) and the Ontario Trauma Network (OTN).

This means that PRHC now has a designated trauma team that works together and in consultation with other teams across the hospital. The trauma team also offers community outreach and education through the Stop the Bleed program.

STOP THE BLEED

Stop the Bleed is an international program that provides community members with the skills and basic tools they need to stop uncontrolled bleeding in an emergency situation. Much like the general public learns and performs CPR, people should also learn proper bleeding control techniques, including how to use their hands, dressings, and tourniquets.

How do I sign up for Stop the Bleed training?

PRHC now has a certified healthcare provider who is trained to offer Stop the Bleed training. Stop the Bleed training is offered at PRHC in the Learning Centre from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. To register, complete the following form.
