VOLUNTEERS MAKE A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE

At Peterborough Regional Health Centre, volunteers are an integral part of our healthcare team. Whether working directly or indirectly with patients and their families, volunteers support our staff in providing care and improve the overall hospital experience. Scroll to the bottom of this page to see a list of volunteer opportunities available.

We are currently looking for individuals to share their time and provide compassionate service to help improve the patient and family experience. If you’ve ever considered volunteering at the hospital, the time is now.

Follow these three steps to complete your application:

  • Provide a record of immunization for two (2) doses of MMR vaccine and two (2) doses of Varicella vaccine. This information can be found on your yellow personal immunization card, or requested from your doctor’s office. If you do not have an immunization record available, or if doses were not received – bloodwork serology can be requested from your doctors office to show immunity status for MMR and Varicella.
  • All applicants to PRHC must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to be considered for any staff, physician or volunteer opportunities. As part of the onboarding process, you must provide government-issued documentation verifying that you have been fully vaccinated, or present documentation of a valid medical contraindication or other reasonable consideration, pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.

NEXT STEPS

Short-listed applicants will be invited to an interview by volunteer services.

Volunteer Services will arrange for a two-step Mantoux Skin Test for Tuberculosis (TB) for successful candidates. This is done by our Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness department. This test can be done through your physician’s office if it is more convenient.

Volunteers over 18 years of age will need to provide a current police check (within the last six (6) months).

Volunteers will receive a letter from Volunteer Services following the interview to provide to the police service providing the police check.
