WHAT WE OFFER
The Post-Anesthetic Care Unit (PACU) offers complete assessment and monitoring of surgical patients immediately after surgery. PACU staff care for a variety of patients from children to adults who are recovering from a wide range of surgical procedures and tests.
WHO WE ARE
The PACU is staffed by registered nurses who work closely with the anesthetist, surgeons and operating room staff.
SEEKING CARE
Patients who have had surgery will be taken to the recovery room and will stay in PACU for varying lengths of time depending on the type of surgery and anesthetic they have received. Patients are either discharged from PACU to an inpatient surgical bed or to surgical outpatients to complete their recovery and prepare for their discharge home.
