Peterborough Regional Health Centre is a regional hospital delivering acute healthcare to a rapidly growing population of more than 300,000 in Peterborough and the surrounding communities, including the First Nations of Curve Lake, Alderville and Hiawatha. The Health Centre is located in Peterborough Ontario, a 90-minute drive north-east of Toronto – and has a proud local history extending back over a century. We are the region’s largest employer with more than 2,500 staff, 460 physicians with privileges and a core team of 500 volunteers.
With a capacity of more than 460 beds, PRHC has one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Ontario, and offers an extensive range of services, including specialized programs in mental health and addictions, cardiac care, cancer care and vascular surgery.
The President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) plays an integral role in the growth and operational excellence of the hospital. With a highly engaged Board and Senior Leadership Team, the CEO will empower a talented staff, judiciously steward limited resources to best advantage, be a compelling ambassador for the hospital, and continue to make PRHC a source of local pride. As the move to a truly regional model takes shape, the CEO will provide inspirational leadership to advance PRHC’s collaboration with Peterborough Ontario Health Team, community and regional partners, and Ontario Health.
With 10+ years of progressive senior leadership acquired in complex healthcare organizations, the preferred candidate will have experience leading through times of significant change and expansion. The new CEO will have the demonstrated ability to translate vision and strategy into actions supporting optimal organizational performance. Possessing strong health system awareness, clinical operations oversight, and financial acumen, the new CEO will foster a culture that respects the patient’s voice in support of improving health quality, equity, efficiency and access. A Masters degree (MBA/MHA) or equivalent is preferred.
