Hospital, Peterborough community attract new surgeons from Toronto
The combined appeal of working at Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) and living in the Peterborough community has seen three new specialists relocate to join the team in the hospital’s Surgical Department.
In recent months, PRHC has welcomed Dr. Stephen Preston, an Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in hip & knee surgery, Dr. Jennifer Klok, a Plastic Surgeon specializing in breast reconstruction, and Dr. Jacob Hassan, a Urologist with special training in minimally-invasive surgery.
While all three physicians originally hail from across the country, they have recently relocated to Peterborough from Toronto to take on their new roles with PRHC.
Dr. Klok calls Alberta home, while Dr. Hassan grew up in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Dr. Preston has lived in Montreal, London and Oakville. He has family ties in Peterborough, and has recently opened a community-based practice in the city as well.
Dr. Preston is one of six (6) orthopedic surgeons, and Dr. Hassan is one of four (4) urologists at PRHC. Dr. Klok is the Health Centre’s third (3rd) plastic surgeon.
